Hokehankist Service

To request a Hokehankist Service for your loved one(s), kindly fill in the areas below so that we can include them in our Church Bulletin and E-Newsletter.

Please Note:

-To request a Hokehankist/Requiem Service, please submit the form by 12:00 (noon) Thursday.

-Arrangements for Requiem Service, Altar Flowers, and Candles should be made through the church office by 12:00 (noon) Thursday.

-For Hospitality Table- in addition to food/dessert, the following items are required for the Hokehankist Hospitality table:  coffee, cups, milk, plates, plastic forks, knives, spoons. These are to be provided by the family requesting the service.
Donation to the Church – when making a donation to the church, you may mail a check to the Church Office at St. Mary Armenian Church, 4125 Fessenden St., NW, Washington, DC 20016, or give the donation directly to a Parish Council Member after the Badarak.

** It is a pious tradition in the Armenian Church for the family requesting Hokehankist to arrive towards the beginning of the service in order to kiss the Holy Bible before the mid-day reading.

 

-In accordance with the canons of the Armenian Church, Requiem Services may not be performed on the following five major feast days: Armenian Christmas, Easter, The Feast of the Transfiguration, The Feast of the Assumption of the Mother of God, and The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. (Please refer to our home page calendar)
