ACYOA Juniors Sports Weekend

Over Columbus Day weekend, more than 200 teenagers gathered at the St. Peter Church of Watervliet, NY, for the ACYOA Juniors annual Fall Sports Weekend. The parish hosted 217 participants from 19 parishes across the Eastern Diocese, for a weekend of worship, sports, and fellowship.

St. Mary ACYOA was represented by 17 teens and 4 chaperones. The St. Mary teams participated in co-ed Volleyball, and Boys basketball, lead by Coach Mike Sahakian. The great accomplishment of our team was winning 2nd place in Boy's Basketball. The weekend culminated with a dance on Saturday night and a closing Banquet and Awards Ceremony on Sunday evening.

Special appreciation goes to chaperones Mrs. Talar Festekjian, Mrs. Hasmik Keurian and Coach Michael Sahakian and Yn. Jennifer Karapetyan who brought their time and effort to make this an exceptional weekend for our youth. Many thanks to St. Mary Parish Council for their support and sponsorship of transportation.
