St Mary Shnorhali School 2021-2022 Academic Year Information

The Shnorhali school will be open for in-person learning beginning September 12th.  We require the students to wear masks to school.  See the school’s Covid-19 protocol form (button at bottom of this page). The details of the for the 2021-22 academic year are as follows:

Academics:

For grades K-8, the school will offer both Eastern and Western Armenian, in addition to religion and Armenian History/Culture.  For grades 9-12 the school will offer a religion class and an opportunity to earn community service hours as a volunteer.  Extra-curricular options will also be available and will be announced at a later date.

The school will utilize a new structured Armenian curriculum, where each grade (K-8) will cover set materials, which should be mastered before moving to the next level.  Students will take an Armenian placement test the first week of the school year. If a student’s test placement does not match his public school grade, the principal will discuss options with the parents.

The school will also offer a Junior Kindergarten class for 4 year olds, who are potty trained.  All interested parents must stay on the premises for the duration of the class, and volunteer as needed.

The Shnorhali School will open for in-person learning on September 12th.  The school academic calendar will be available at registration.  The bell schedule will be modified this year to accommodate a new family tradition, where the children will have an opportunity to actively lead and participate in the special service in the sanctuary.
